HIFU uses focused ultrasound energy to target the layers of the skin just below the surface causing them to heat the area rapidly and cause the skin cells in that area to become damaged.  This process causes these skin cells to begin repairing by producing more collagen and this results in the target area becoming firmer, tighter and rejuvenated with a more youthful appearance.
